Comparing the two different engine designs is getting into apples vs. oranges. The M series motor has more port area with relation to engine displacement. Plus the inherent ability to turn more rpms. The souped G isn't in the same class as a souped M. Back when these engine were designed nobody was thinking of pulling them on the track in 2010.
