Your information is probably correct as all I can remember is the tractor came back from the dealer and it had six gears forward. I was probably less then eight years old at the time, didn"t understand why the big tires were in the back, I thought it was so the tractor would be high enough to clear the tall corn during cultivation, also I assumed the front wheels done the pulling because they were in the front. Small boys learning process. There is a shift pattern in the cover of the transmission with only four speeds forward showing. It is along side the tool box above the right brake pedal. Serial no. 221146, it is 4 months younger than me, I have a delivery sheet dated March 8, 1938 along with an Operator and Parts Manual. My long term goal is to get it running, mount the 2 row cultivator on it and pull a manure spreader behind and parade it as fertilizer and weed control 1938 style.
