The hydra unit loses way too much fluid mostly through the bell housing. I've pulled the motor and unit out, taken the bell housing off only to find the only thing holding the bell housing on was the 3 bolts in the starter. The little ears at the top are busted off. Can these be successfully brazed back on or do I need a new bell housing ? I remember reading that I should drill and tap a 3/4 bolt through the tub to act as a support and to help line up the 2 sprockets. Is there a best spot to do this, like in front or rear of the casting # on the bottom of the tub ? After removing at least 2 tubes of grease from the bell housing, I looked at the hydro unit and it was obvious the seal on the input shaft is shot. Is it possible that this would be the only source of the leak, or should I completely disassemble the unit and replace every O-ring and internal seal ? Everything was working good, but should I degrease the clutch as well? Any and all advice is appreciated.
