Thanks rusty but this tractor has no inside brakes. They are on the outside protruding from the case just ahead of the rear axle. Drums. They are pinched on the edges by the pads. They will not move. As you say it could be stuck between gears. This tractor is an odd ball. Has 8 speeds forward and 2 reverse speeds. The dual range is controlled by the shifter. It has 2 "H" patterns. I'm going to put the herman nelson on it today and heat it up. It might be frozen. But if it is frozen why does it not stall the engine if it is in gear ? I'm thinking the pto is hydraulic. The leaver is on a detent. You have to constantly hold it to make it go. Does not mesh into gear like my international Super H. I'll open the case plug and if no oil comes out i guess it's frozen. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks for your prompt response.
