When it came out it broke the starter off between the nose and the casing in the thinner part of the casting, and came out under the water jacket. I have always wanted an Oliver 88 series diesel tractor, and have leads on decent rebuildable engines from Super88/880's too. Someone took the manifold, water pump, carb, tach drive and some other minor things off the engine. I bought it from a friend who bought it for the seat and I think I have more in the trailer ride home than I paid for it. If I put a diesel Super 88/880 engine in it, what else would I have to change? By the way, the rod is hanging there with both bolts in tact and the cap is destroyed and laying in a dent in the oil pan. I can't see what shape the crank is in. It blew up cleaning out the cow lot and they left it sit for a few years where it died, until they moved it for the sale. The tires and rims are in good shape, green cast centers and rims all the way around. This tractor even has the entire hydra-lectric system inplace too, from the steering column switches to the wiring and connectors.
