After approx. 5 1/2 yrs of overhauling M/S carbs, I have actually called it quits, on a rusted up TSX33. I called the owner and told him that, there isn't anything more I can do for this one......:
Throttle rod, and choke rod seized up by rust, and had to use a Dremmal cutter blade to extract them.!! (saved the rusty throttle plate and choke plate...not usable)
Vertually all the screw heads broke off, of the throttle, & choke plates! Also the thottlebody to bowl screws,...(all four),...broke off, just under the throttlebody mateing surface.
The main nozzel is rusted in place and even with trying to loosen it up with heat and PB Blaster....it will not budge!!!!
Mating surfaces on the top and bowl are rust-deteriated, as is the float, holding bars.....one side rust damaged and will not receive the float att. pin!!
At this point, I quit working on it, as I am not set up to re-manufacture these carbs.......overhauling them can sometimes, give a feller a sinking feeling in his gut!!!!!!!!
BTW...:..the only parts, that I think are reusable, are the floats...(not too sure about those)...and the venturi, cleaned up with a Dremmal cup brush.
LOTS of cast iron lost to the insides of this one!!!! You can see that by the amount of rust powder that came out of the bowl.
The owner is now trying to find a rebuildable TSX241B, that I can overhaul.....(If anyone has one to let go of,.....let me know!!!!)
Gary....(finally found one I cannot make work!!!!) :(

The soil is a rich dark brown and is well looked after. unlike some areas in the midlands it is also fairly flat, broken only by hedgerows and the occasional valley and brook. A copse of wildbreaking silver birch and oak trees surround the top si
