I have found that using the comp. kits from YT Parts, is about as good as it gets. They have also expanded the carb 'single parts', so that I don't usually have to go anywhere else for my kits and single needed parts.
Just gotta watch close, with any where ya get em!!! That's why I always do a parts inspection lay-out......(still miss a few odd-ball made shafts, etc, etc.)
Usually you can get by with mic.'n the jets that were in the carb,.....then trial and error comes to play when doing TSX33,and 241, but have found that if ya buy the TSX33 kits, then if need-be, you can drill the jets out to the TSX241, 241B spec's.!!! Not too much saving in $$'s that way, but every cent saved....you know how it goes!!!
Found also, that sidemount 8N engines, will most times need a slight bigger oriface..main jet wise, and def. bigger econo jets than the front mt. 8N!!
JMHO!!
I don't do clean-up carb work in my shack.....I do "Full-on overhauls"....I fig. if the guys want to pay....then they should get "the extra mile!!!!"
Anybody can throw parts into a carb.....OVERHAUL's are a dif. bag of worms, to my way of thinkin'!!!
