I just found that my 8n (6v side-mount) has no resistor on it. Based on the way the wiring was painted over I can tell it has been that way for quite a while. The (round)coil does appear to be fairly new compared to everything else on the tractor. I've put less than 10 hrs on it since I got it, I don't know much about it before then. What are the chances I'll need a new coil soon? Resistance was 1.5-1.6 thru the coil, I'm not sure how much that tells me.
