I live on hilly wooded land and get my trucks and tractors stuck a lot. I have winched them out of bad spots with a cheap TSC come-along dozens of times - in fact three different times this summer when I got stuck mowing. They weren't axle deep in a bog - just in a slippery spot, hung on a ground obstacle, or down in a hole they couldn't manage to climb out of on their own. All they needed was a little help with traction. If you can actually get a 2000 pound pull out of that cheap winch I would think it would be useful mounted to the front bumper on a tractor for just those sorts of occasions. Save you the hike to the shed to get the come-along.
