Before everyone jumps on me about this, it wasn't me who did it. Honest!
I have 2 8N's and three carbs (one came with an extra) so this is not a major problem. I rebuilt the carb on my new 8N and all is well. I had so much fun rebuilding the carb that I decided to rebuild the spare. The spare was in sad shape, the main throttle shaft was about ready to fall apart, everything inside had a nice coat of gasoline varnish on it.
I started taking everything apart, squirted some carb cleaner in the economizer jet port (the jet where you have to go in pretty deep with a small screwdriver to get to) and noticed that it looked pretty hairy down there. With some additional spraying and looking, I was able to determine that there is a crushed brass jet in there. Looks like someone tried to get it out at one point but mangled it in the process. I gently put a screwdriver in there to see if it would grab at all, but there is no chance, the head is totally stripped. Probably explains why this carb was the "spare".
In any case, what is the best way to get the mangled jet out? Should I drill it out somehow? Do they make a screw extractor that small? The casting is in nice shape, so I'd like to salvage it if possible.
