nana, its pretty easy, assuming the 8n is original with a 6v generator, loosen the bolts that bolt the generator to its mounting brackets, then push the generator towards the engine as far as it will go, remove the belt from its pulley, then work it off the fan by rotating the fan by hand, let it drop from the bottom of the crank pulley, [ if it hasnt already by now] and its off, install the new one the same way, make sure to tighten the generator so there is about 1/2 inch of slack in the belt up and down, measured at a point midway between the pulleys
