I mow at least once a month.. usually twice a month with my KK 5' rotary cutter. Have done that for over a year now. No problems but a popped shear bolt or two. I have cut everything from 7' weeds, to thick 2-3' grass, thick briars, and probably nearly 2" sapplings ( and rocks, and mounds of dirt, and old lumber and fallen trees.. etc.. ) B;lades have no dings.. gearbox has no leaks, everything is fine. Unit does appear to be lighter duty than other brands.. but then at half the price.. i was willing to take the chance. I think you must have your tailwheel adjusted too low if you can't cut lower than 4-5".. this last time I cut my 10 ac this past weekend.. I cut it down to the ground literally.... like a lawn.. couldn't have been much over 2" Only skuffed a couple places. I cut with my tail higher, and the front lower.. cuts great than way for my pasture.. no clogs.. discharges great too. If you cut often.. even a rough cut mower will get you to 'shaggy lawn' appearance. Make sure you sharpen the blades every season at least... Soundguy
