9N 3 point raises very slow

My 3 point started to raise very slowly recently. I am considering changing the oil in the system. I think I read there is no filter or screen on these systems. Also is there a specific oil I should use and about how much is the capacity. The dip stick on the side the the housing also has two different scales on either side of the dip stick. Which one do I use.
