Both share the same fluid. but they are two different compartments. the ampli-torq level is higher than the rear end. There are two drain plugs, like Alan says one under the belly above the drawbar and on the lower left side just ahead of step, There are two level plugs on the right one down just above the platform behind the brake lock rod and one ahead of that higher up. When you drain both compartments, you must fill both compartments. Because it takes awhile for the front compartment to fill via the gears as you are driving. And the ampli-torq will not have any lube. Fill the rear through the filler on top of the trans. shifter cover, and the front through the the cover plug on the right where you adjust the ampli-torq. Fill the rear first. Then fill the front leave both level plugs out. If when you fill the front and the rear begins to flow before it flows out the front that is possible because the front plug and the top shaft bearing may not be exactly perfect as to the fluid level. If this happens check with a wire or screwdriver to be sure the fluid is close to the opening for the front level plug. If it is not and the fluid runs out imediately when you start to fill the front, then you have a problem internally.
