I"m trying to figure out my options to low oil pressure and apparent worn crank journals on my ZA. Following are the specs. from my ZA only Dealer Service Manual (not an I&T manual covering several different models):
- If journals = 2.6245-2.6250 use standard bearings - If journals = 2.5995-2.6000 use .0025 undersize bearing - If journals > .005 under then grind to 2.6045-2.6050 and use .020 undersize bearing
Is this a misprint or am I missing something because the spec. for .0025 under bearing is less than for .020 under. BTW, my journals mic at about 2.621, are not out of round, and are clean with no scoring on either the journals or the bearings, so I"m thinking that .0025 under bearing should get me to an acceptable clearance. Plasti-gauge indicated clearance of approx. .005, which is .002 outside the acceptable range of .001-.003. I don"t know about the mains but I"m hoping tightening up the rods will get me the oil pressure I need. Am I on the right track?

As far as I was aware a fordson was a fordson and it was only through trial an
