We've run a bunch of stationary MM's... HD 800's, old style 800's, 605's, etc. Even an old HUA with cast iron pistons. They are good old engines. Be sure and let them warm up good before you put them under a load. It can gald a piston fairly easy, if you don't. Be especially sure the manifold is completely full of water when you start it, if it has the water-cooled exhaust manifold. We always put a Murphy float level gauge on them to kill the engine if the water level drops. You can crack a head (or all three) pretty easily if you get one hot. For some reason, it is very common for the water pump to leak the water out of the motor when it is not running, but not leak at all while it is running. The ball bearing style water pumps are much better. Hope this helps, Howard
