Let me respectively correct Scott. I thinke his fingers may have typed too fast.
The 1955 TO-35 would have been Green and Gray. Green castings on the body and grey Sheet metal.
There are several Combinations of colors for the TO-35.
1955's Gray and Green Very-very Few 1956 Cream and Green 1956-57 Cream and Silver 1958-59 Red and silver 1960-64 MF-35 badged red and silver.
Yes it is very possible that the tractor was re-painted it was often done to give the latest look and help sell old stock or by the consumer to have the latest color look. Sheet metal color and decals are not the best wat to date a tractor. Another possibility is that the orgional hood was replaced at some point.
What is the SN? What is the background color of the badges? Front and side hood. What is the height of the collar on the steering shaft, between the steering wheel and the dash?
What is the engine serial number?
These are some of the ways to ID the tractor date.
Another good one is to read the transmission casting date code. This code should be on the ledt side under the steering arm. it will read ##-letter-#.
It reads a day-month year. ie. 27-G-5 = 27 of July- 1955 and 17-C-7 = 17th March 1957.
Note the letter I was not used thus J=Sept and K=Oct. etc.
Hope this helps let us know. Also, please consider joining FENA it provides alot of good Ferguson information.
