Is one end of the string pulling out and the other tying a knot? Do both pull out straight? What twine are you using? I don't know balers much but have a lot of recent experience figuring out my relic. Remember old balers weren't made for the thin plastic twines, it wsn't made then. The sisal is a thicker twine and works different in spots because of it. Mine was pulling one end of the string out straight and knotting the other on most of the failures. I tried sisal and it seemed something was cutting it away from the knot. Most of the time it worked though. I finally went to the 170lb. strength plastic twine, AND, I filed the fingertip of the knotter just a smidge to allow it to close further. It wasn't holding the ends of the twine enough to forcibly pull it through the knot. I also tighted the tension on the knotter roller thing. Last weekend I was 422 for 427 bales, until the rough field bounced the baler enough both needles crashed the ram. wonderful I'm fixing the wear guides on the ram now.
