The bearing and housing are usually pressed off with a jig mounted in a hydraulic press, or removed with a puller and long threaded rods. Some will come quite freely if they have been apart many times in the past. You could try inverting the axle assembly, and dropping it onto a large block of wood. I would offer it a bit more help and thump it onto the block, BUT watch your fingers! The housing will move up and down on the axle. If it fails to budge, a press and jig is the answer. see how you go, Evan.
