Hi, As a starting test run the engine at medium speed until the noise can be heard. Press the clutch pedal to the floor as if you were going to engae or disengage the PTO. If the noise stops when the pedal is fully pressed your problem might be a broken pump dowel/s or broken front plate on the pump. If this is the source of the noise it is because the pump is being allowed to 'rattle' in the casing. Pressing the pedal fully stops the drive to the pump and consequently any movement of it.
