thanks for the help folks, as I said it was not that dificult really just need a slim drill & a sharp chisel, I used the recommended method of post hammering the shaft onto a sleeper to remove the bearings which worked fine & gave me a workout in the process. the tractor is a 1958 35 which I have owned & abused for 25 years, it pretty much only gets used for cutting grass & with a back box on for moving stuff, although now I have finished my landrover restoration I might give it a bit of a going over & some new paint next winter.
