You can mill the block 50 thou and be ok, its really not going to increase your HP that much, yes it will help, but not dramatically. You can also mill the head down, 50 thou or whatever. AT least you will have to good mating surfaces for head gasket fit up. I do not know what size over your pistons are but you need some pretty good cubes to keep up with the amount of fuel the 51 carb is going to give you. An A with .125 over pistons, stock crank, no milling to the head or block and a good 71 carb rebuild will put out 45 HP and run good. Just depends on what you want to do, it is fun to mill and shave here and there just all in what you want. Good luck, Gpower
