There are a couple ways to determine the shims needed and there is a rolling drag quote in some books, but rolling drag can very, so I don't use it. I split a 50 Cal. muzzle load ball and stick it with grease under the washer, tighten the bolt to what ever the hardware torq is for it, or till your eyes bug out then remove the washer and mic the squashed lead, add that many shims less .oo5 for pre-load and go bad together..
