4010 rear axle

I am new here and have a question on 4010 rear axles. Are there suppose to be any shims on these bearings and what should the rolling torque be on these axles with new bearings?

There are a couple ways to determine the shims
needed and there is a rolling drag quote in some
books, but rolling drag can very, so I don't use
it. I split a 50 Cal. muzzle load ball and stick it
with grease under the washer, tighten the bolt to
what ever the hardware torq is for it, or till your
eyes bug out then remove the washer and mic the
squashed lead, add that many shims less .oo5 for
pre-load and go bad together..

Thank you for the info. To make sure I have this right would the shims go on top of the shaft under big bolt and washer? Not between bearing and carrier?
