Mike, You hit on most of the differences and are correct. There is one more that you missed and a very distinct one and that is the two different engine blocks. I don't know where the break was in the late tractors serial numbers but the earlier one had the smooth blank ear on the left side of the block where the ventilator pump used to be located. This block different than the later block was the poorer one of the two due to it lacked one oring in it to seal the cylinder liners in the block and was prone to leak antifreeze down in the crankcase. The later block did not have the large ear on the side rather it had two small ears for an AC compressor mounting. It had two o-rings and one packing ring that sealed the liners in the block verses the one oring and one packing like the earlier one had. The later block also had the hole in the side of it to install the block heater right in the water jacket where it belonged. I am sure you know all this Mike as I can tell you are no stranger to the 4020,s either . I just thought I would point it out to the rest. Dave W.
