It has never been used on my new gen. I pondered if there was ever a piece of Deere equipment outside of a sickle mower for use with the mid PTO?
We discussed this a while back and I asked the same question. Was there ever a John Deere implement other than a sickle that utilized the mid power take off shaft and no one could think of one, including Tim S and he is about as knowledgeable about John Deere tractors as anyone could be. Many people will tell you how they hooked something up under there to use that pto shaft, but I believe that the sickle was the only factory manufactured item to use the mid pto. My next question then was could John Deere have put them on all those tractors just so they could power a sickle mower if they wanted to? John Deere must have had other plans for the mid pto, like front mounted implements, but still the mid pto is in a somewhat difficult location to be useful for front implements. It would be interesting to know what their true intentions were.
