JD Tech's need your help. What is the reason the digital tach's on the 55 series JD (4055-4955) put hrs on much faster that the old mechanical ones used from the 20-50 series? We plowed with a 4020 4 furrow plow and a 4055 5 furrow plow, and each tractor was used the same amount of time each day, and each tractor drove the same speed, and the elec tach would put double the hrs on that the mechnical one would. I have seen many of the 55 series tractors with higher hrs on them, I guess you can't go 100% by the hrs showing, all depends on how well each tractor is maintained.
