I sold a Van Brundt that sounds similar to the one you describe last summer here in northeast Texas for $450. That seems to be close to the market price. Mine had galvanized boxes and fertilizer hoppers. Check all the discs to see if they turn freely. If it has been pulled down the road many miles with the wheels engaged there may be wear in the gear mechanism. Butch
