What works for me is a Miller Pro 1150 rotary rake. I used a 55 new holland for many years & had trouble getting thick hay to dry & sure hated baling knotted up rolls. I used to go through a lot of shear pins making 1st crop marsh hay because of the slugs the 55 left & so far this year i have sheared 1 pin in 5000+ bales marsh hay. It cost me $5000 3 years ago but I wouldn't go back to the 55. I used the wheel rakes also but they are rock rakes & hay buyers don't like rocks in the bales.
