Funny how that thing could get that far out of time just sitting. I have photos of timing a 68. and have a 268 but not sure how to time the feeder on the 268. My Manual has not arrived yet. To check the timing on the knotters. Put the plunger in the upright possition between the timing marks ( see photo). Then go back and look at the knotter clutch thats the part that the chain drives. There are 2 sets of hash marks or a series of dots. These should line up with in 1/2 inch. If not its out of time. You take off the chain that drives the knotters and turn the knotter drive untill the hash marks line up. Reinstall the chain and and turn the fly wheel by hand one time around and recheck the timing. Then trip the knotters and run it through a tying cycle and see if the needle safety latch is working.
