Borrowed a NH 268 Hayliner. On first revolution the plunger came back and caught the needles at or near the top of the stroke and snapped both. OUCH! (You break it, you fix it.) Have the new needles installed, and timing seems the same, turning it over by hand: Plunger comes back, and catches needles at top of stroke. This seems about 180 degrees out to me. (Have an Oliver 60-T here, and needles are at top of stroke when plunger is all the way forward.) How should the 268 be? How do I check, and reset the timing on the 268? How could it have slipped? Owner says it was working fine when he put it away.
