Boy,that sparks a memory. When I was a senior in high school,our government class went to the courthouse and sat in on a case. A well driller was suing a potato farmer for not paying for the irrigation well he had drilled. The farmer claimed they had broken the casing when they pulled it back up after they dropped the screen in. They testified that they had made a contraption out of three weeder times and had slid it down the well. Said it squeeled all the way down to where the alleged break was then quit making any noise when it got to the break. I would imagine a lot of those things met a similar fate. Got cut up for another use.
