Make sure you've got a full set of weights if your ground is hard at all. Dad used to plow with our 285 and Oliver 565 3-16 plow. Was a miserable job and the tractor would buck pretty readily. No draft control on the lower links doesn't help either.
I tried using it this spring for 1 small 2.5 acre field because I didn't want to remove a dual wheel from our Oliver 1855 and use the 4 bottom plow. I'll make this short- I ended up dropping the dual and hooking onto the 4 bottom plow.
The 285 had the front end come up 4-5 ft on several occasions. We only have 5 weights on it. Dad used to have a round chunk of concrete between 4 of the weights (all that would fit) and that helped but still wasn't enough.
