The club has started stripping down the NH baler, hitting all the usual roadblocks - lots of snapped head bolts on the engine which will be a lot of fun to remove, etc.
But, we were lucky enough to get a $300 grant from the 4H mother ship to put towards the restoration project. That's $300 less out of my pocket and will certainly make the project more enjoyable for me!
Leroy, you were keeping your eyes open for a needle for us, but I actually found one while graveyard picking. Ended up costing us $30, so that was a big find. New ones are close to $300.
We're still looking for the little wheel the baler pickup section rides on.
And - what seems even more impossible to find - a glass air cleaner for the wisconsin engine. We've got the whole assembly, but the glass is long gone. (TF-D engine)
