I've seen combines rigged up that way, with an auger in back to move the cobs away, and a MM/JD drag hooked onto the feeder house to pull corn in. I sure wouldn't want to shovel it in! Work, & a lot of spray coming back at you.... I'd get a MM D (or if you really want to shovel fast, E / 1200). They sell for about $200 in pretty good shape around southern MN, with drag. We put 1500 bu or so through ours per year, & in 25 years or so put on 2 belts, 1 chain, & welded in some gear teeth we stupidly busted out. Not bad for repairs. My uncle ran his with corn picked out of the field, 20% moisture or so & it did a good job shelling. --->Paul
