All New Idea pickers shell corn on the ground.I should say every picker without deck plated over the rolls shell corn.IH 234,AC 170-190 and the John Deere 300 are the only ones that do not shell corn on the ground.Alot of the problem is that most corn varities are bred for a combine so they want it to shell easy. Some smaller seed companies still have a few varities that are very good for picking and do not shell as much as others. We quit using our John Deere 237 mounted picker because of the shelling problem and have bought a 300 Deere pulltype. The New Idea is a good picker and the problem is more than likely the corn.
