Hi just finished installing a Series 2 KT17S in my 782 cub that had an air conditioned block also, thought long and hard about it and bought a new Kohler haven't even started it yet(it came without the optional oil filter adapter so i'm waiting for one from Kohler (about $40.) i'm not going to start it until i get a filter on it)so i can't tell you how it runs but i can tell you it was simple to put in and so far i think it's the way to go. bought the motor online (better price than Northern) Will let you know how it runs later.
