This engine is a 1972. I have the wiring diagram but this engine had a magneto ignition from new. It is a rope start as in old school, wind the rope and pull. Thank God for compession release. My problem was intermitten spark so it was missing out. The most likely issue, after everything new was changed, points, condensor, wiring, connectors, magneto(under the flywheel),and still the same exact problem. It all points to weak magnets in the flywheel. I don't usually just change parts to chase a problem but in this case I had no choice. No where could I find how to test the pull on the magnets or how much pull that should be. The only clear solution was to change to a battery ignition. It runs perfect. It has been im my shop for at least 3 monthe and I'm glad it is done. So is my customer. PS, Steve, Great idea on the trickle charger! Thanks to everyone for advice and suggestions. I always learn when I come here for help. Thanks, Sam
