The magnetron conversion doesn't work with all briggs eng, briggs admits that on a small percentage of it's mod# eng it won't work due to flywheel issues(reverse magnet polarity, number of magnets on flywheel or weak magnets)in addition depending on type/code# of eng the 320000 series used point type ign or solid state according to my lookup & lists 2 different pn coils,1 for point type ign & the other solid state, the early solid state system had an ext trigger module mounted on coil, later versions had trigger internal in coil, you must have correct pn flywheel for solid state system to work/work correctly on this style system.
As has been said you're probably better off sticking with point type ign system. The 320000 series eng had adjustable flywheel timing, first thing to do is take orig coil to one/more local mower shops & have coil checked in a coil tester, same may be bad/weak,if coil checks ok then I would suspect problem is dirty/burned point contacts, worn push pin,bad condenser, wire to coil shorting to block, incorrect flywheel/coil air gap or weak flywheel magnets, goto link below & read text, will tell you how to set point/flywheel timing.
The fiber push pin for points is still avail(probably pn 298125)to confirm correct pn for pin goto www.partstree.com & lookup eng mod/type numbers in briggs eng parts listings, after you have correct part# for push pin(plunger)do a goggle search for briggs+pn,same still listed on ebay & online dealers.
