Curious how much I could quiet down a Craftsman LT4000 lawn tractor exhaust.
It has a 13.5 hp Briggs & Stratton engine.
I know that the mechanical noises will remain, but any quieting down will be a plus for riding through a neighborhood park.
I"d prefer to keep the parts limited to what I could find at the local junkyard or otherwise "on the cheap" :)
Ideas/Questions: - Can I use an automotive style muffler? (Obviously, I"ll have to get creative about adaptors/mounting) - Would it be worth it? - Maybe a motorcycle or ATV muffler? - How concernced should I be about back pressure? - Should I try and raise the exhaust outlet over my head...i.e. vertical stack?
