Thanks Terry, well worth the read, I am hoping the PTO jumping out of gear is a circlip or a selector problem.
As the tractor is a 41/2 hour drive into the mountains from our workshop and I don't fancy splitting her in the mountains that far from civilisation. Thinking back the pto shaft was very dry looking, this is the trouble when plant is operated without basic knowledge and care.
