I took the fuel filter out and it was full of rust and sludge. The spring in the bottom of the fuel filter cannister was broken. I suspect that debris may have gotten into lines and injector pump. I cleaned out the cannister and refilled with diesel and primed up to that point, but was unable to get anything out at injector. I turned over engine a little but nothing came out. Is there anyway of clearing any debris out of injector pump if it has taken it in, or is it a rebuild time? Also, since the spring in the fuel cannister is broken and the filter I was sold as the (correct) replacement did not have the proper size holes for gaskets I plan to reengineer something to make fit. Is there a replacement spring and where can I get a correct fuel filter? On the injector pump there is a line leading to the fuel intake. How does this operate? Thanks for your help. Arnold from Oklahoma
