Sounds like it may be a clogged air filter. Black smoke would indicate to rich a fuel air mixture. Other issue might be timing on the pump. Try advancing or retarding the injector pump slightly. Those are 2 no cost things to check. Injectors could be dirty and need cleaning if at higher rpm they aren"t closing all the way between strokes. You can clean the injectors yourself by unscrewing the bottom section of the nozzel and cleaning with very fine wire. Any dirt in the close fitting parts could mess things up.
