When I bought my '73 4000 off of ebay several years ago, my closest dealer was an hour and a half drive away, but luckily the same dealership opened a new location only 7 miles form my house a couple of years later. they have been very good to deal with. The parts guy recognizes me when I walk in the door and immediately strikes up a conversation, and their parts price are comparable to the on line prices, and if I'm willing to wait for their weekly parts shipment to come in they don't charge me any shipping, so it's actually cheaper than shopping on line most of the time.
I took the tractor to them last spring to get new tires put on all around since I don't have the tools to do that myself, and they were reasonable on the price of the tires plus the labor, so I had them do a full service of the hydraulics as well while they had it, since I don't have anyone around to help me take the top cover off and I don't have any kind of hoist or crane either. I was wiling to pay a few hours in labor to make sure it was done right without risking injuring myself.
Overall I have been very happy with them, and I try to give them all my business when i can, so they stay in business and I'll have someone local to go to in the future.

Some of them only bring their noses down out of the air long enough to look down them anyway. If you are like me you are only doing this old tractor stuff because you enjoy it. You
