My local CNH dealer (Aycock Tractor) in Goldsboro NC has been a real joy to deal with the last two years. They have been willing to look up parts that I needed for my 641 and have been glad to give me tips on how to do a lot of the work I have done on my tractor.I feel that I have become friends with the owners and employees Their prices have been comparable to the large on-line houses, and in a couple of cases have been cheaper. I needed a new proof meter when I first got my tractor. The owner told me he had an original in stock. He sold it to me in the original Ford package for what a reproduction would cost. The other day I went to get a new temp gauge. The parts man (the owner's son) told me he had a repro in stock but he advised me to let him order one from New Holland instead. Said that 50% of the repros he had sold were hard to get not to leak at the cylinder head. None of the NH gauges had been any problem.Price was $2.00 more than Chinese part comparable to one from TSC. Got the NH gauge this afternoon... installed in about 30 min including loosening the battery box and working under the dash panel (thanks for the tip re crowfoot flare socket) Just wanted to give credit where it is due. Now if I can talk my wife into that new Boomer tractor with a bush-hog Ill be set. Nobody ever has too many tractors...
