I have a 1975 5000 with the 8 speed tranny. This machine gets little use but has always been dependable. Hooked up the transport disc yesterday and headed up the road to do a little 2 acre field for a guy. Made about 6 passes and she died. She turns over good but would not catch. I pumped the fuel manually and she started " reluctantly". I brought her home and she ran OK. Today I changed the fuel filter, and let her run for about a half an hour. Then I took her for a 2 mile ride. She ran fine. I backed her up to hook up the disc again and she died. Total run time was proably close to an hour. I am not a diesel guy so I am limited on my knowledge of these animals. But I have 5 other tractors of various makes and am decent at mechanics. Let me know what you guys think . thanks
