"Some have put a length of chain in the tank, strapped it to an elevated rear tire and ran the tractor. The chain "cleaned" the inside of the tank." I wanted to use your idea to clean my To-35's gas tank, Tonight in the barn,I put a clean near new 30' foot length of 5/16 chain, I put most of this in the tank,(thru the gas fill hole) I ran the other end to the left rim,(tied it on rim with 3 bungee cords pretty tight) I used my 2 1/2 Floor jack to jack up rear of my tractor, (Jack Stands under rear housing) After starting Tractor (Idle) I put tractor in first gear (high range) After letting out clutch The chain just Tore out of gas tank and then flew up in the air and started whipping around before wraping around the left tire. After Shuting the engine off,I could not belive what damage your idea has done: It (the chain) ripped out the filler neck on my gas tank,(It was a real nice tank before this) also before wrapping around tire, the chain caught the fender and bent it real bad. Now I have more damage to my tractor than just a rusty tank. Please dont reccomend this cleaning method to anyone, has anyone else tried it? Results? I would like to add, I think I could have been injured also. Walt Pressman

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
