Should u try to remove pan by removing only one strut rod then remove the right side. I'm trying to recall here. In my case the oil filter cannister INSIDE the oil pan was removed previously and the oil float kind of gerry rigged someway. SO if yours still has filter cannister then it mite be impossible to remove oil pan by only removing one strut rod.
I have a To-20 and a recent TE20. I am NOT impressed with the TE at all.
Heed my warning from above about that Al trans housing. Do not over
torque the bolts when reinstalling the strut rods.
Also cheque the front pivot bracket that bolts to the engine. Mine has a 1" x 1" square cut from it up near the rite side mounting bolts. TO20 does not. My pivot bracketr is cracked at the square cut out. I belive the square cut out is factory but i'm not sure.
Quite frankly, the TE 20 i have (not rusty at all and appears to have ben well maintaned) has a lot of very poor eng'ring that varies from my TO-20.
The AL transmission housing is probably the most brainless idea i've ever seen in my 40 years of wrenching on junk.
