Wow, I was getting ready to order a radiator and some seat parts from this guy when I saw this feedback. On January 4th He cashed my $150.00 check for some other parts I had ordered. Ten days later on Thursday January 14th I called to see what the status was on the shipment. He said the parts had gone out UPS on that Monday and I should be getting them that day. He said he was “out of town” but he would check later in the day and get back to me. About two hours later he called and said the package was sent back to his house because it smelled like gasoline. There was a carburetor in the shipment and thought that caused the problem.
He said he would re-ship it when he got home on Friday. He called that Friday and said he was going to let it air out and send it on the following Monday or Tuesday. He asked if I needed any bolts for rims since he had some and I said I was going to buy some. He said he would “throw them in the box free” to make up for my trouble. I received the shipment on the following Thursday and there was no smell from the carb.
The carb was pictured on the internet for several days not attached to a tractor. I have dealt with plenty of carbs and I really doubt a few extra days were going to get rid of a heavy gas smell. I felt all along that there was no problem with the shipment and that he wasn’t going to send it out until he was good and ready, but I wanted to not believe that. After seeing all the comments, I now have to think that really was the case.
I was lucky, I got my stuff but I had to get after him to get it. I’m going to pass on ordering the seat parts and rad. No sense taking a chance he will keep my money next time. Thanks for the alert.
