jump electrical current from one side of your silinoid to the other to rule out the silinoid. Use jumper cables, that is the safest and make sure the tractor is out of gear. Some times the silinoid will give some problems like you are discribing. This just happened on my 350. If you get good fire at your starter then you need to rule out the hot wire that comes from your switch. If both the starter and the switch wire are good then it is the silinoid. If you do not get fire at the starter it is in that batt. or cables.
